Visiting the whole district 410A, which also includes Namibia, is probably the most arduous task a Disctrict-Governor has to undertake as part of his work at Lions International, the world's biggest service-organisation.
District Governor Paul de Wet
During the last couple of days DG Paul de Wet visited Namibia. He attended a Weekend-Indaba in Windhoek and visited the capital's three Clubs. On the premisses of the Alte Feste Lions close to the Merua-Mall, a meeting took place in which the presidents of the clubs presented DG de Wet their annual report and accounts. DG de Wet was very pleased and satisfied with the activities of the three clubs. Especially the good connections with German clubs and joined projects were seen as a good example for the whole of southern Africa.
Yet he also pointed out the problem of attracting new young members to the aging clubs, a problem which seems to be symptomatic for Lions Clubs the world over.
After the obligatory exchange of presents, president Hans-Gert Röschlau served pizza in the beergarden of the Lions Den. The Namibian Lions proved to be excellent hosts.
